Charity Trees
During the holiday season, the merchants of the Arts & Design District offer numerous ways to give back to those in need.  Participating merchants have partnered with a charity or organization of their choosing and outlined ways in which the community can help this season.  A “Charity Tree,” displaying ways in which to donate, is located inside or outside participating merchants’ locations.  Please see below for a list of participating merchants, their charities, and how you can be part of the giving this season!

Arts & Design District Office

  • Charity: The Rebirth Project
  • How you can help:  Donate a new unwrapped toy for ages newborn to 16
  • Donation enters you for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from an Arts & Design District merchant of winner’s choosing
Blue Egg Gallery
  • Charity:  HOPE Worldwide
  • How you can help: Donate by cash or check at the Blue Egg Gallery
Carmel Music Center
  • Charity:  United Christmas Service
  • How you can help:  Leave gifts to give to the family sponsored by Carmel Music Center or choose to sponsor a family on your own
Carmel Old Town Antique Mall
  • Charity: VFW/VA Hospital Visit Committee
  • How you can help:  Donate money for patients’ needs
CK Designs Hair Salon
  • Charity: Sponsorship of family through Carmel Clay Schools
  • How you can help:  Purchase raffle ticket for basket of products & services-- money collected goes toward sponsorship of family through Carmel schools

Deborah DeFazio Lyons Portrait Studio  

  • Charity: Cat Haven (a cat rescue organization)
  • How you can help:  Donate money at this location

Environmental Services Associates

  • Charity:  Pavilion Church
  • How you can help:  Donate food and/or clothing to benefit the church’s collection pantry
Lauck & McLean Optometry
  • Charity:  National Kidney Foundation
  • How you can help:  Donate money at this location
Lucky Lou
  • Charity:  The Rebirth Project
  • How you can help:  Donate new unwrapped toys (ages newborn to 16)
  • Receive 10% off one item when you donate an unused & unwrapped toy benefitting the Rebirth Project all holiday season. 

Mary & Martha's Exceedingly Chic Boutique  

  • Charity:  Crisis Pregnancy Center
  • How you can help:  Donate the following child necessities including: diapers of any size, formula, baby clothes, blankets, and/or pacifiers
  • Shop Saturday, December 22nd and 20% of your sales will be donated to the Crisis Pregnancy Center!

Mudbugs Cajun Café

  • Charity: DAMAR Services
  • How you can help:  DAMAR is a residential treatment facility in Indianapolis, serving children and adults with developmental and behavioral challenges. People can make a cash donation at Mudbugs or drop off an unwrapped gift. When gifts or donations are made, customers will be given a gift tag to write their name on and hang on our tree.  If people prefer to drop off a gift, DAMAR is asking for the following items…

Art Supplies, Crayons, Washable Markers, Colored Pencils, Coloring Books, Puzzles, Books, Basketballs, Sports Equipment, Baseball Cards, Comic Books, Make Up Kits, Hair Brushes, Book bags & Purses, Stuffed Animals, Tickets to the Zoo, Radios, CD Players, MP3 Players, Video games & Systems, Wrapping Paper, Gift tags, Children’s Clothing (ages 6+)

Museum of Miniature Houses and Other Collections Inc.

  • Charity:  Woodland Animal Hospital
  • How you can help:  Donate money to the Angel Fund, helping animals receive necessary treatments
Old Town on the Monon Loft Apartments
  • Charity:  Susan G. Komen Foundation (Indianapolis affiliate)
  • How you can help:  Purchase “HOPE” bracelets off the tree for a $3 donation, or donate directly to the foundation
Sugar Buzz Sweet Parties for Kids
  • Charity:  The Julian Center
  • How you can help:  Donate funds to help purchase toys given to the Julian Center, or drop off toys to Sugar Buzz
Teresa Chapman State Farm
  • Charity:  The Julian Center
  • How you can help:  Donate non-perishable goods and cleaning supplies at this location
The Great Frame Up
  • Charity:  JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation)
  • How you can help:  Charity tree will have tags shaped like little shoes on it in different denominations that people can take off and donate that amount (from $5 to $25). They will receive a JDRF bracelet in return for their donation. This is a  research foundation in need of monetary donations
WebTech One
  • Charity:  Kids in need at Carmel Elementary School
  • How you can help:  Donate new jeans, socks, and underwear; new or gently used mittens, hats, and clothing items at this location
Woody’s Library Restaurant
  • Charity:  Northview Christian Life Church
  • How you can help:  Donate items or money to family sponsored by Northview Christian Life Church
