Holiday Festivities Planned for Carmel Arts & Design District
Carmel, IN – This year marks the premier of the Carmel Arts & Design District’s (District) “Holiday in the Arts District,” hosted by the Carmel Redevelopment Commission. The series of community events provides a festive and entertaining destination where community members and visitors to the area can enjoy free events while shopping and dining in the District. Events take place the first three Saturdays in December (2nd, 9th and 16th), from 1-5 p.m., with a tree lighting ceremony on December 2nd at 5 p.m.
Each Saturday visitors can experience free carriage rides, elves with live reindeer, strolling carolers and a visit from Santa! Visitors have the chance to win gifts and services such as a free one-hour massage, home decorations, design consultations or a designer handbag, donated by the merchants of the District. The free hourly gift drawing will take place at the Arts & Design District Office located at 111 W. Main Street, Suite 140.
A tree lighting ceremony takes place December 2nd at 5 p.m. at the northeast corner of Range Line Road and Main Street, with the Carmel Symphony Orchestra playing from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Winners of the student holiday art contest and event sponsors will be announced at the ceremony. All student artwork entries will be displayed in the Arts & Design District Office and throughout the District in other merchants’ stores.
The Merchants in the District are also hosting other fun and festive activities in their stores to entertain guests throughout the holiday season. Please see attached sheet for merchant activities.
