Soori Gallery Opens in Carmel Arts & Design District

Carmel, IN – Soori Gallery, representing national and international artists, is now open at 258 Main Street West in the Carmel Arts & Design District.  The three-story gallery is part of the new Monon & Main project developed by Gunstra Builders.  Soori Gallery is the fifth business to open in the Gunstra development and the first gallery of the project.

The 3,000 square foot gallery showcases sculptured works of bronze and acrylic from American and international artists, ranging from Russia to Vietnam.  The gallery also showcases paintings from international artists including works by Iranian artist, Mahmoud Farshchian.  The first floor of the gallery displays artwork in a traditional gallery setting, while the second floor displays pieces as they would appear in a home setting. Gallery hours are Monday through Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. or by appointment.

Owner Soori Ardalan, with her husband and co-owner Hamid Ardalan, moved the gallery from their Zionsville location to the Carmel Arts & Design District because of the focus on arts and culture in the developing area.  Evan Lurie, a consultant for the Carmel Redevelopment Commission introduced the Ardalan’s to the Carmel Arts & Design District and the available space in the Gunstra project.

“When Even Lurie showed us the Carmel Arts & Design District, we fell in love with the area and saw the future in the Mayor’s vision.  Mayor Brainard should be commended for giving the City of Carmel the opportunity to have fantastic development and for renovating the Old Town area.  I am happy to have our gallery be part of this exciting new district,” said Soori Ardalan.
