Upcoming Events in the Carmel Arts & Design District

Carmel, IN – Many merchants and businesses in the Carmel Arts & Design District have fun and educational activities and events planned for the upcoming weeks and during the month of February.  Visitors to the Arts & Design District can paint alongside professional Indiana Artists for free at the Blue Egg Gallery or find great deals at the upcoming Grand Opening Celebration of PillowTalk, a ladies boutique and gift shop.  February brings the First Annual Arts & Design Valentines Art Walk, complimentary “Design After Hours” consultations from Artichoke Designs, a visit from the Microsoft Across America Event Truck at WebTech One, comedy shows at Bub’s Burgers and Ice Cream and much more!  Please see the following list of merchant events and activities taking place in the District during January and February.

CURRENT – Complimentary “Paint with the Artists” workshops at Blue Egg Gallery

CURRENT – Tiny Tot and Cute Tails contest at Wyant Photography and Ami Gallery
o       During the month of January Ami Gallery will be photographing pets for their Cute Tails Contest on Mondays and Tuesdays.  Receive a free sitting, free 5x7 of contest print and free entry into the Cute Tails contest with a $20 donation to the Hamilton County Humane Society. Winner is selected by popular vote (voting online) and will receive a $75 gift card to the pet store of their choice.
o       During January and February Ami Gallery will be photographing children up to 6 years old for their Tiny Tot Contest on Thursdays and Fridays. Receive a free sitting, free 5x7 of contest print and free entry into the Tiny Tot contest with a $25 donation to either Riley Children's hospital or to St. Vincent's Children’s Fund.  Winner is selected by popular vote (online voting) and will receive a $75 gift card to the children's store of their choice.

STARTING JANUARY 30 – “Two Sisters’ Collections” at the Museum of Miniature Houses
o       “Two Sisters’ Collections” contains handcrafted miniatures of Emma Rogers and the collected dolls of Rose Chevrolet.  The Rogers’ displays are room boxes ranging from elegant bathrooms to formal living and dining rooms and feature two glamorous sets of wedding gowns.  The Chevrolet dolls are baby dolls from the Madam Alexander collection.

FEBRUARY 10 – “Family Fun!” Concert from Carmel Symphony Orchestra
o       Young and young-at-heart are invited to sit on stage among the musicians of the orchestra and hear excerpts of the world’s great classics.  The concert also features the winner of the CSO’s 2007 Young Artist Competition, Yihan Chen (13 yrs. Old).  Children can try instruments after the concert at a musical petting zoo.

FEBRUARY 14 – Microsoft Across America Event Truck at WebTech One
o       The Microsoft Across America Event Truck will be present at WebTech One to help launch the beta of “Develop-IT-Yourself,” a comprehensive online application that escorts the user on a guided journey through designing a software application.  Free Valentine’s Day chocolates will be available to the first 100 guests the day of the event.  The event is open to the public and hot beverages and cookies will be available.
