INDIANA CULTURAL DISTRICTS

The Carmel Arts & Design District was among the first to receive cultural district certification in 2010 from the Indiana Arts Commission. The IAC advocates engagement with the arts to enrich the quality of individual and community life. The official state designation signifies the City of Carmel’s commitment to arts and culture.

The Carmel Arts & Design District continues to gain national recognition, most recently earning the No. 5 spot on USA Today’s 10Best list of Best Arts Districts. This honor highlights the district’s vibrant galleries, public art, events, and creative businesses that make it a premier cultural destination.
